The Golden State Valkyries held their inaugural Valkyries Fashion Show, presented by Sephora on Thursday night at Chase Center’s Above the Rim space, marking the team’s first official venture into blending basketball with fashion and beauty culture.
Players Temi Fágbénlé, Laeticia Amihere, and Kaila Charles walked the runway alongside members of the Golden State Dance Teams. The event was lead by Valkyries Collective member Brittany Hampton, who served as the show’s creative director.
Here are some pics and video from the show, courtesy of the Golden State Valkyries.
The show featured 15 total looks, including 13 designs from emerging and established brands Retired From Society, AuthMade, Dead Dirt, Ru by Rupal, and Kids of Immigrants. Two additional pieces were created by Valkyries guard Tiffany Hayes, who emphasized the role of fashion in shaping her personal identity.
“Fashion has been a huge part of my personal journey,” Hayes said. “It gives me confidence, it grounds me, and it reminds me that my identity is bigger than how I perform when I’m on the court.”
Valkyries President Jess Smith highlighted the broader impact of the showcase. “Fashion in sports isn’t just about clothing; it’s a powerful form of self-expression,” Smith said. “It helps tell the story of who these incredible athletes are, on and off the court.”
Our very own staff photographer, Ed Jay, was also able to capture some images from practice earlier that day. View his photos on the Bay Area Sports Wrap Facebook & Instagram pages.
Select pieces from the show will be available for purchase at the Valkyries Shop beginning in October. The team will also release exclusive digital content throughout the week, featuring player fashion tips and behind-the-scenes highlights from the event.
