John has been a respected member of sports media for nearly 30 years. Throughout his career, he has worked with the Oakland Athletics, Sonoma Raceway, and co-founded Country Fastball, a nationally syndicated radio show blending Major League Baseball and country music. A passionate advocate for women's sports, John has experience covering women's college basketball, the WTA, and the ABL’s San Jose Lasers, as well as the NBA's Golden State Warriors. John is Bay Area Sports Wrap's beat reporter for the Golden State Valkyries.
Born and raised in Montana, he brought his Midwestern sensibility and values to the Bay Area in 1995. He has made it his mission to spread positivity and offer an optimistic perspective on life. John attended the University of San Francisco, where he earned a bachelor's degree in marketing before embarking on his sports career. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the Bay Area’s fine restaurants, entertainment options, and popular dog parks.
